Disclosed are a demand management performance test device of an energy management system, and a test method thereof. The demand management performance test device of an energy management system according to the present invention optimizes a charge and discharge plan of an energy storage system and orders a real time charge and discharge of the energy storage system based on the optimized charge and discharge plan. The demand management performance test device of an energy management system comprises; a data input unit which inputs specification characteristic data for the energy storage system and information for an electricity pricing system; an operating function information input unit which inputs daily load prediction data calculated by the energy management system, and a real-time charge and discharge command value of the energy storage system which is calculated by the energy management system; and a performance index calculation unit which calculates energy charge saving costs and peak reduction in accordance with a charge and discharge command result of the energy management device based on data inputted by data input unit and the operating function information input unit. The performance index calculation unit calculates energy charge saving costs and peak reduction in accordance with an optimum charge and discharge plan based on an actual measurement load, and calculates an energy charge saving cost performance index and a peak reduction performance index by using the calculated values.
