A magnetic garment closure system comprises a garment having a first flap and a second flap, a first axially-magnetised magnet, a second axially-magnetised magnet, and means for securely attaching the axially-magnetised magnets to the flaps. Each flap has a top layer and a bottom layer. The top layer has the thickness equal to the thickness of the bottom layer. The sense of magnetisation (N-S) of the first axially-magnetised magnet is identical to the sense of magnetisation (N-S) of the second axially-magnetised magnet so that the first flap layeredly attach to and align with the second flap by magnetic attraction force. This arrangement forms overlapping flaps in either male configuration or female configuration. This invention relates to garment closure systems, and the principal use of the invention is for closing garments.</p> |
