The present invention relates to a painting simulation method and an apparatus thereof capable of more realistically simulating a painting motion by reflecting fluidity, diffusivity, and absorptivity of a paint. According to the present invention, the painting motion simulation method comprises the steps of: generating a paint model consisting of a paint pigment, a paint binder, a solvent and a paper; generating a governing equation by applying viscoelasticity of the paint to Navier-Stokes equation, and calculating fluidity of the paint model by decoding the governing equation; generating a diffusivity calculation equation by modifying Fick′s second law of diffusion to smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH), and calculating diffusivity of the paint model by decoding the diffusivity calculation equation; calculating absorptivity of the paint model by using Washburn equation; and rendering the paint model by reflecting the fluidity, diffusivity, and absorptivity, and outputting a rendering result. |
