<p>Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for modeling a shape of 3D model using available bricks having various shapes and a connection part, and interconnected to each other. According to the present invention, the method for modeling a shape of 3D model comprises the steps of: obtaining a shape of 3D model; approximating the shape of 3D model by using unit bricks having the same width, length, and height; receiving information on available bricks from a database having information on the shapes of available bricks and a protrusion part provided by the available bricks; and replacing the unit bricks with the available bricks by considering combination factors including at least one among a size of the unit brick and a minimum size of the available brick to be used for combination. Especially, the step of obtaining the shape of 3D model obtains the shape by using a 3D scanner and extracting an outline of the 3D model. According to the present invention, a user can know kinds and shapes of bricks needed for implementing the desired 3D model in advance, thus can implement the 3D model in a short time by freely selecting the combination that the user wants among several combinations.</p> |
