PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work machine capable of reducing the power for driving a boom by compensating for the weight of a work mechanism acting on the boom. ! SOLUTION: A hydraulic shovel is so configured that a boom 5 of a work attachment is fitted rotatably to an upper swivel body, and a weight compensation part 9 for compensating for the weight of the work attachment 4 is fitted to the boom 5. The weight compensation part 9 includes a lever 91 which can rotate around a fulcrum P1 of the boom 5, a stopper 92 which abuts on the lever 91 at a predetermined position to restrict rotation of the lever 91, and a weight compensation spring 93 which connects the boom 5 and lever 91 to each other. While the lever 91 abuts on the stopper 92, the weight compensation spring 93 generates force for drawing the boom 5 and lever 91 to each other by extending so as to compensate for the weight of the work attachment. !
