PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove truncation artifact from an MRI image. ! SOLUTION: The method for removing artifact from an image that removes truncation artifact in a nuclear magnetic resonance image to generate an artifact removed image, includes: a first noise removal step of performing first noise removal processing for real part image data and imaginary part image data, respectively, in a magnetic resonance signal space obtained by nuclear magnetic resonance scanning, and generating complex image data in the magnetic resonance signal space; a first conversion step of generating an amplitude image on the basis of the complex image data generated by the first noise removal step; and an artifact removal image generation step of, after performing a second noise removal processing for the amplitude image generated by the first conversion step, or without performing the noise removal processing, generating an artifact-removed amplitude image as the artifact removal image. !
