The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for processing data whereby a high S/N ratio and reduction of data delay can be obtained at the same time. The method for processing data by using 2 exponential smoothing includes the steps of: calculating a first estimated value, which is an estimated value of data smoothed by the 2 exponential smoothing, and a second estimated value, which is an estimated value of a slope of smoothed data; and calculating a third estimated value, which is an estimated value of data smoothed by using 2 exponential soothing with the second estimated value as input data, and a fourth estimated value, which is an estimated value of a slop of smoothed data. |
