PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve followability in inter-vehicle distance control.SOLUTION: A vehicle control apparatus includes: detection means which detects a target ahead of a vehicle; probability calculation means which calculates a probability that the detected target is located in the same lane as a lane where the vehicle is traveling; selection means which selects a target of the detected targets, which is to be distance-controlled, on the basis of the probability calculated by the probability calculation means; distance control means which controls a distance to the target detected by the selection means, on the basis of the probability calculated by the probability calculation means; collision prevention control means which performs collision prevention control with the detected target, on the basis of the probability calculated by the probability calculation means; and correction means which corrects a current probability of the target to be distance-controlled, selected out of the detected targets by the selection means, on the basis of a past probability. The distance control means controls a distance to the target detected by the selection means, on the basis of the probability corrected by the correction means. |
