PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a block copolymer having high productivity that contains a vinyl polymer block obtained from a vinyl monomer having a polyester block, especially a crystalline polyester block, and styrene monomer as the main components and has a high block fraction. ! SOLUTION: A production method of a block copolymer has a step 1 below. In the step 1, a vinyl polymer block produced from a vinyl monomer which has a styrene monomer as the main component and a carboxylic acid or a carboxylate on one terminal or both terminals, and a monomer having a dicarboxylic acid and a diol as the main components from which a polyester block is produced in the presence of an organic solvent of a solubility parameter (SP) of 7.6-12.2 are subjected to a condensation reaction to produce a block copolymer. !
