PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which detects failure of two switch means quickly on an indoor unit side, in a split type air conditioner including switch means for supplying/cutting off an input current and switch means for supplying/cutting off the input current flowing in an inrush current prevention resistance in an indoor unit.SOLUTION: An indoor unit 2 includes: switch means 21; an inrush current prevention resistance 23; switch means 22; power supply cycle detection means 24 for detecting a voltage cycle of an AC power supply 1; and indoor unit control means 25. The indoor unit control means 25 includes: control means for outputting an instruction corresponding to an air conditioning operation state; switch changeover means for controlling opening/closing of each switch means corresponding to the operation state; state pattern storage means for storing a state pattern of a power supply cycle signal determined in advance corresponding to the operation state; and failure determination means for determining the failure of the two switch means and outputting a determination result signal to the control means based on the input power supply cycle signal, the state pattern and a delay operation state signal. |
