In the present invention, provided is a fishing reel, which is allowed to reduce a load on a level wind device and accordingly improves engagement and sensitivity of the fishing line, thereby improving operability of the fishing reel. More specifically, the fishing reel comprises a level wind device causing a fishing line guide to reciprocate in a left and right direction to guide a fishing line to the spool, and a drag device imparting a drag force on the fishing line, wherein the fishing line guide comprises a narrow guide part and a wide opening part. In the present invention, the fishing reel is situated in the narrow guide part when the fishing line is wound around the spool, and situated in the wide opening part when the fishing line is released from the spool. The fishing reel has a conversion device to convert the position of the fishing line guide and accordingly changes a guiding position of the fishing line in a state of winding the fishing line on the spool from the narrow guide part to the wide guide part by which the conversion device changes the fishing line guide when the fishing line is resisted from a drag device and is released. |
