PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the flight time of an optical pulse reflected from a forward object while suppressing the data volume needed for measurement irrespective of distance.SOLUTION: A measurement device 1 receives a reflected light by a light-receiving unit 20. A converter 31 samples the received signal by a frequency f1 and generates sampling data. This data is accumulated by a processing unit 41 and stored in memory 51 as first signal data. A converter 35 samples the received signal by a frequency f2 lower than the frequency f1 and generates sampling data. This data is accumulated by a processing unit 45 and stored in memory 55 as second signal data. A control unit measures the flight time of an optical pulse on the basis of the first and second signal data, and sets, on the basis of the measured value, a sampling period corresponding to the predicted position of a forward object in the converter 31. The converter 31 selectively samples a signal received in the set sampling period and generates sampling data. |
