PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device which achieves power saving of an image processing controller for generating image data from a printing job received from outside and submitting it to an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A CPU of an image processing controller controls whether to shift the power state of the image processing controller to a power saving state (S606 to S618) if it has received from an image forming apparatus an interruption notification indicating that a printing job has been interrupted (Yes in S602), in accordance with the error content corresponding to the cause of the interruption contained in the interruption notification.
