PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode manufacturing method and an electrode manufacturing apparatus, capable of preventing cut position deviation of an electrode material, while preventing an active material from being peeled from a metallic foil in a process of cutting the electrode material. ! SOLUTION: In an electrode manufacturing apparatus 50, an electrode is manufactured by using an electrode material 42 in which uncoated parts 42a, 42b and coated parts 43a, 43b are provided on surfaces 22a, 22b of a metallic foil 22. The electrode material 42 is cut from the surface 22a of the metallic foil 22 along a transverse direction by a cutting mechanism 53. In the cutting process by the cutting mechanism 53, the surface 22a of the metallic foil 22 is held by a suction plate 52 and the electrode material 42 is pressed by a pressing part 55 of a pressing mechanism 54 from the surface 22b of the metallic foil 22.
