A purchase unit price must be compared with a sales unit price to calculate a profit ratio from sales of goods. The calculation is simple if stocked goods are sold out and then new goods are stocked, or the goods are always stocked at an identical price. However, newly arrived goods are frequently stocked while previously stocked goods still remain, and the price can change every time goods are stocked, in which cases the calculation requires a very complex method to accurately calculate the profit ratio. The present invention calculates an average unit price from a quantity of currently remaining goods when a new shipment arrives, the average unit price of the quantity of the currently remaining goods, and a quantity and a price of the goods in the newly arrived shipment and stores the calculated average unit price as the unit price of the goods to apply the unit price to a next shipment of the goods and apply the unit price when selling the goods. According to the present invention, the unit price can be calculated much more accurately and easily. |
