A usage-based food waste processing apparatus is disclosed. The usage-based food waste processing apparatus comprises: a storage unit to store information related to a discharge of food waste and a charge for the discharge; a processor to control the execution of an output unit, a charge information generation unit, and an external communication unit by using the information stored on the storage unit; the output unit to supply information related to at least one among user information, the discharge of food waste, and the charge for the discharge of food waste to a user according to a control of the processor; the charge information generation unit to receive user card information via near field communication and generate charge information by using the received card information according to a control of the processor; and the external communication unit to communicate with an external device to transmit at least one of the user information and the charge information to the external device according to a control of the processor. |
