In a backlight-type image sensor, the upper part of a transmission gate for transiting photo charges generated in a photoelectric conversion part to a floating diffusion part has a relatively narrow line width with a small filler shape. The lower part has a relatively large line width with a large flask shape. Thereby, a surface area which touches the photoelectric conversion part is increased so that an effective channel length can be increased when photo charges are transmitted to the floating diffusion part.
