PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start an installed application operating on an existing system from a Web browser. ! SOLUTION: An image for an icon of an installed non-Web application is stored in an information storage region 172 which can be referred by a Web server. An image for an icon of a Web application is also stored in the information storage region 172. A Web menu application 1WP3 generates a menu screen 50 in which each image stored in the information storage region 172 is arranged, and provides the menu screen 50 to a browser application 1NP4. When the non-Web application is selected in the browser application 1NP4, the Web menu application 1WP3 requests an application manager 371 to start the non-Web application. !
