PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization method having excellent sterilization properties for such as germs in fluid such as cleaning fluid, or germs present in clothing. ! SOLUTION: A sterilization method includes a step of causing germs to have contact with a liquid composition obtained by mixing: (A) nonionic surfactant expressed by a general formula (1) below; (B) quaternary ammonium compound expressed by a general formula (2) below; and a liquid medium: RO-(EO)mH (1) [in the formula, R denotes a hydrocarbon group having 10-18 carbon atoms, EO denotes an ethyleneoxy group, and m denotes a number 1-12 in average addition mole number], and [in the formula, R1, R2 and R3 each independently denote an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 6-8 carbon atoms, R4 denotes a hydrocarbon group having 6-8 carbon atoms, and X- denotes an anion.] !
