<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling regenerative braking of a vehicle and, specifically, to an apparatus for controlling regenerative braking of a vehicle and a method for controlling the same capable of raising a temperature of a battery by using surplus energy remaining after the regenerative braking the battery. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for controlling the regenerative braking comprises: a motor which is a power source; a battery to provide driving voltage for the motor, and formed of a plurality of cells; a battery temperature raising apparatus to raise a temperature of the battery by heating the battery; a power controller for controlling torque and operation of the motor; a battery manager for managing the state of charge (SOC) of the battery; and a vehicle controller to perform an integrated control of the power controller and the battery manager through a network according to a vehicle state. The vehicle controller is capable of determining whether the battery can be charged during the regenerative braking, and controlling the power controller to provide surplus energy for the battery temperature raising apparatus if the battery can not be charged.</p> |
