The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing catalysts used for synthesizing alcohol having at least C_2, where metal catalyst is supported in a carbon support body, a catalyst manufactured by the method and use thereof. According to the manufacturing method of catalysts where the metal catalyst is supported in the carbon support body, the carbon support body can be formed while supporting components of metal catalyst by carbonizing saccharide which is a precursor of the support body, thereby making a process of manufacturing catalyst simple and economical. FIne powder carbon support body manufactured by the method is supported by uniformly distributing the metal catalyst in the carbon support body, thereby being separated from the outside and minimizing sintering in a process of synthesizing alcohol under high pressure and high temperatures. In the present invention, the catalyst of the present invention is used for manufacturing alcohol from synthesis gas, thereby providing high selectivity alcohol with at least C_2 or C_3.
