<p>A character input system and method using a touch pad of a vehicle control panel are provided to improve a function of inputting characters with a control panel mounted within a vehicle. The character input system using a touch pad of a vehicle control panel comprises: a touch pad which receives handwriting from a user; a control unit which recognizes a character from the handwriting based on a transmission signal from the touch pad and outputs the recognized character on a setting screen of a display unit; and the display unit which displays the character recognized by the control unit in a predetermined section on the setting screen based on the transmission signal from the control unit.</p> |
