The present invention relates to a sheet loading apparatus capable of resuming an operation of loading sheets in a movable range of a sheet loading unit even if lowering of the sheet loading unit is disturbed by an obstacle. The sheet loading apparatus comprises: a lowering control unit lowering a sheet loading unit down to a lowering limit position depending on an amount of loaded sheets; a determining unit determining whether the lowering of the sheet loading unit controlled by the lowering control unit is disturbed at a first position different from the lowering limit position; and a control unit controlling to stop loading the sheets on the sheet loading unit at the first position at which the lowering of the sheet loading unit is determined by the determining unit during the operation of loading sheets on the sheet loading unit. |
