The present invention relates to a method of detecting a forward obstacle in night driving. The method of detecting a forward obstacle in night driving according to the present invention enables to photograph the forward scene of a vehicle in a state where a head lamp of the vehicle is turned on, to extract an image of a region of interest from the photographed image, to extract a light pattern in the image of the region of interest, to calculate a similarity between the extracted light pattern and a reference light pattern, and to determine whether a forward obstacle exists or not, according to the calculated similarity. |
