The present invention relates to a wire electric discharge machine capable of processing a target object by making a wire electrode to oscillate. The wire electric discharge machine comprises: an oscillation count means counting the number of oscillation of the wire electrode; a process stopping means stopping a process performed by the wire electrode when the number of oscillation meets a number predetermined; and a process resuming means moving the wire electrode away from the target object at a predetermined distance by the operation of the driving unit after the process stopping means stops the process and returning the electrode wire to the position at which the process is stopped to resume the process. |
