<p>A screw conveyor for a centrifugal separator comprises a conveyor hub (19) carrying a helical conveyor flight (21) and providing a helical channel (22) between adjacent turns of helical conveyor flight (21). The screw conveyor has an up-stream end (7) and a down-stream end (11). At least two partition walls (41, 43) are arranged in a side-by-side relation to divide at least a radial part of a length of the helical channel (22) into three sub-channels (36, 37, 39) arranged in a side-by-side relation to cause a liquid flowing in the helical channel (22) to flow in an up-stream direction (35) towards the up-stream end (7) in an intermediate sub-channel (37) and in an opposite down-stream direction (34) towards the down-stream end (11) in two adjacent sub-channels (36, 39) on either side of the intermediate sub-channel (37).</p> |
