A battery cell according to the present invention includes an electrode assembly, an electrode lead which is connected to the electrode assembly, a pouch case which receives the electrode assembly to draw the electrode lead to the outside, and a venting unit which is installed to pass through the pouch case and is opened when the internal pressure of the pouch case reaches critical pressure. According to the present invention, a venting operation is quickly performed in an abnormal situation without degrading the sealing property of the battery cell. Also, the use safety of a secondary battery is secured by accurately performing the venting operation in preset pressure. |
