<p>The invention relates to a method for diagnosing the operation of an injector (15A, 15B, 15C, 15D) suitable for injecting fuel (11C) into a cylinder (16A, 16B, 16C, 16D) of an internal combustion engine (10) via a manifold (14). According to the invention, the method comprises: a first operation implemented for each cylinder in question of the engine and the corresponding injector thereof, which consists of: measuring, prior to injection, the pressure (P1,m) in the manifold; injecting fuel into the cylinder in question via the corresponding injector; estimating, after injection, the pressure (P2,e) in the manifold on the basis of the measured pressure (P1,m); measuring, after injection, the pressure (P2,m) in the manifold; comparing the estimated pressure (P2,e) to the measured pressure (P2,m) and deducing therefrom an error coefficient associated with the corresponding injector; and a second operation of comparing error coefficients in order to detect a malfunction in one of the injectors.</p> |
