COORDINATION TECHNIQUES FOR RADIO RESOURCE CONTROL STATE MANAGEMENT IN DUAL-CONNECTIVITY ARCHITECTURES

Coordination techniques for radio resource control state management in dual-connectivity architectures are described. In one embodiment, for example, a master evolved node B (MeNB) may comprise logic, at least a portion of which is in hardware, the logic to send an inactivity notification message to indicate an expiration of an RRC_Inactivity_Timer for a dually-connected user equipment (UE), receive a state decision message in response to the inactivity notification message, and determine whether to transition the dually-connected UE to an RRC_Idle state based on the state decision message.
