The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a polymerizable compound suitable for use as a material for an optical anisotropic body exhibiting superior optical properties; a composition containing the polymerizable compound; a polymer obtained by polymerizing the polymerizable compound; an optical anisotropic body composed of the polymer; and a liquid crystal display element including the optical anisotropic body.
