Provided are an image photographing apparatus and a photographing method thereof. An image photographing method of the present image photographing apparatus comprises the steps of: setting a plurality of focus positions from an image which is viewed live; obtaining an AF evaluation value of a photographed image when a photographing command is entered; detecting the focus positions by analyzing the AF evaluation value; and acquiring and storing a plurality of images corresponding to the detected focus positions.
