PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape feeder, an electronic component mounting apparatus and a method of mounting electronic component capable of improving the productivity by preventing stoppage of the device due to drop-off of the following tape.SOLUTION: When a splicingless tape feeder 5 feeds a following tape 14(2) in two successive carrier tapes 14 to a first tape feeding mechanism located at the downstream of a tape inlet 5d with a sprocket 21B of a second tape feeding mechanism 20B, and when a rotation detection signal detected by an encoder 23 mounted on the sprocket 21B determines that the following tape 14(2) is dropped off from the second tape feeding mechanism 20B, the drop-off of the tape is notified to the electronic component mounting apparatus. With this, stoppage of the electronic component mounting apparatus due to the drop-off of the following tape 14(2) is prevented resulting in an enhanced productivity. |
