PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently make an authentication request to an authentication server which is more likely to be successful in authentication, without increasing network traffic.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 3 connected to a plurality of authentication servers 2A-2D over a network 9 includes: an authentication request section 32 which makes an authentication request to at least one of the authentication servers 2A-2D; a storage section 33 which stores a result of the authentication request made by the authentication request section, as an authentication history; a priority determination section 34 which determines priority of the authentication servers 2A-2D, on the basis of the authentication history; and a control section 30 which causes the authentication request section 32 to make an authentication request, according to the priority determined by the priority determination section 34. |
