<p>According to an apparatus and a method for inputting English characters of the present invention, a plurality of pieces of writing information, set on the basis of upper case forms of a plurality of English characters, is stored in association with at least one piece of English character information, each of the plurality of pieces of writing information being set with a different priority; if a gesture inputted by a user is writing information, the first priority English character information, from among the English character information associated with the corresponding writing information, is emulated by a keyboard input; and if a gesture inputted by a user is a tap touch, the next priority English character information associated with the same writing information as the previously detected English character information is detected and then emulated by a keyboard input by replacing the previously inputted English character information with the detected English character information.</p> |
