PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for transmission of information corresponding to the arrangement pattern of sub-spectrum, in the occupied band for use in band dispersion transmission.SOLUTION: A transmitter includes an arrangement pattern setting circuit for setting the arrangement pattern of each sub-spectrum arranged on the frequency axis while being dispersed depending on transmission data 2, with reference to the arrangement position of a predetermined sub-spectrum. A receiver includes: a transition band correlation arithmetic circuit receiving each sub-spectrum extracted, performing correlation arithmetic processing of an adjacent transition band between the predetermined sub-spectrum and other sub-spectrum, and outputting the correlation value thereof; and an arrangement pattern detection circuit for detecting the arrangement pattern of each sub-spectrum by sequentially identifying the sub-spectra adjacent to the predetermined sub-spectrum depending on the correlation value, and performing control for returning each sub-spectrum to the frequency band before dispersion arrangement depending on the arrangement pattern.
