PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which encrypts only a partition requiring encryption, and to provide an image forming system.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes partitioning means for partitioning a recording area of a recording medium to one or more partitions, format means for formatting the one or more partitions thus partitioned, information acquisition means for acquiring information designating a partition to be encrypted out of the one or more partitions thus formatted, encryption key generation means for generating the encryption key, and encryption key setting means for linking the encryption key for the partition thus designated, so that the data recorded in the partition designated based on the information is encrypted by the encryption key. |
