The photographed image acquisition unit acquires a plurality of photographed images in which the face of a monitored person is chronologically photographed. The face direction detection unit detects, on the basis of the acquired plurality of photographed images, the orientation of the face of the monitored person, the degree of change in the orientation of the face of the monitored person, and a retention time indicating the time during which the change is stopped or almost stopped. The direction estimation unit estimates a viewing area on the basis of the orientation of the face of the monitored person and parameters including the retention time. |
