A flat supporting glass plate (Gb) contacts the lower end portion (X) of the bottom face of a product glass plate (Ga) by being raised while the product glass plate (Ga) is stationary and flexed downward in a convex shape by having two opposing sides of the product glass plate (Ga) supported from the bottom face side. While in this state, the contact region (Y) of the supporting glass plate (Gb) and the product glass plate (Ga) is expanded from the lower end portion (X) of the product glass plate (Ga) toward the two opposite sides by way of gradually releasing the convex flexure of the product glass plate (Ga).
