PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance game amusement by providing a new game property based on entry of game balls into a prescribed ball entry hole. ! SOLUTION: A game machine is provided with a start port sorting device 60 which sorts game balls entering a ball entry hole 61 into a first start port 36 or a second start port 38. Until a timer measures a first time after power is supplied, a first start port switch maintains a first operation mode in which to detect game balls; until the timer measures a second time after it has measured the first time, a second start port switch provided for the second start operation port 38 maintains a second start port switch in which to detect game balls is maintained. Thus, a new game property that a game period in which a first special symbol is variably displayed and a game period in which a second special symbol is variably displayed occur successively can be provided. !
