<p>According to the present invention, an outline part on a front end portion of a glass plate is prevented from colliding with a pressing means immediately after the glass plate is cut. A cutting apparatus (10) of the present invention pushes up a lower side under a cutting line (14) of the glass plate (12) in the shape of a strip by upward movement of a cutting roller (16). The glass plate (12) in the shape of a strip is cut along the cutting line (14) when the cutting roller (16) moves up to an elevation location. When the glass plate (12) in the shape of a strip is cut, a pressing roller (28) comes in contact with an upper side of the glass plate (12) in the shape of strip and pushes a lower side of the glass plate (12) to a roller (22) of a roller conveyer (24). Therefore, the glass plate (12) is exactly cut along the cutting line (14). Afterward, the pressing roller (28) moves away from an upper side of the glass plate (12) when pushing-up operation of the cutting roller (16) is finished. Accordingly, the outline part (12A) on the front end portion of the glass plate does not collide with the pushing roller (26) and is returned by the roller.</p> |
