PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately diagnose a structure of a dam body using vibration wave forms measured by seismometers installed on the surface and/or inside the dam body such as a reservoir, a dam, or a dike.SOLUTION: A diagnosis of a structure of a dam body is performed by the following steps: installing seismometers at least two spots on the surface and/or inside the dam body Db; continuously recording vibration wave forms by seismometers Sand Swhich are installed at the two spots; calculating a function with a deconvolution relating to vibration wave forms measured by the seismometers Sand S, which are installed at the two spots, selected among installed seismometers; evaluating the state of earthquake wave propagation inside the dam such as propagation, scattering and reflection of direct waves of an earthquake P wave or S wave existing on and around a main earthquake wave propagation path between the seismometers Sand S, which are installed at the two selected spots, on the basis of reading a travel time and an amplitude of a wave form of the calculated series of functions; and diagnosing the structure of the dam body on the basis of the evaluation of the state of earthquake wave propagation. |
