PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sentence analysis device which performs sentence analysis in a simple method without using a database to be collated with text data when a sentence included in the text data is analyzed to extract important information from the text data.SOLUTION: A sentence analysis device 400 searches for identical character strings from acquired text data and takes out a preceding adjacent character and a succeeding adjacent character of respective identical character strings. Thereafter, the sentence analysis device 400 determines a degree of variation among the preceding adjacent characters taken out about the identical character strings and a degree of variation among the succeeding adjacent characters taken out about the identical character strings and determines whether the identical characters are an important specific character string for discriminating a topic or not on the basis of the determined degrees of variation among the preceding and succeeding adjacent characters.
