PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide touch screens having improved compliant suspension systems for haptic touch screens while providing a user with haptic feedback.SOLUTION: A dual stiffness suspension system 304A, 304B has a first element 320 of a first stiffness and a second element 322 of a second stiffness which is stiffer than the first stiffness. The dual stiffness suspension system is configured to limit movement between a touch screen 302 and a housing component 306 in a first direction by the first element. In addition, the dual stiffness suspension system is also configured to allow movement of the touch screen relative to the housing component in a second opposing direction by the second element.
