<p>An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for transmitting digital broadcast. The method includes the steps of: multiplexing subsidiary stream including video data, audio data, an event information table (EIT), and a program map table (PMT) into MPEG-2 transport stream wherein the EIT or the PMT includes a caption descriptor including caption information and the caption descriptor includes the caption information indicating whether caption data, included in the video stream, provide a digital closed caption service according to electronic industry association (EIA)-708 or provide an analog closed caption service; and modulating the multiplexed MPEG-2 transport stream into broadcast signals and then transmitting the broadcast signals.</p> |
