PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen printer and a component mounting line which prevents shape deformation of paste from occurring upon plate releasing to secure preferable printing accuracy.SOLUTION: Paste Pst is filled into pattern pores 13P in a mask 13 by means of a squeegee 52, thereafter, a substrate 2 is moved in such a direction as to separate the substrate 2 from the mask 13 to release a plate. When the substrate 2 is moved in such a direction as to separate the substrate 2 from the mask 13, the mask 13 is sucked to a mask suction unit 40 disposed on a pair of clamp members 37, after the movement of the substrate 2 is started, the mask suction unit 40 is caused to release the mask 13 from sucking while the mask 13 sucked onto the mask suction unit 40 is kept its orientation parallel to the substrate 2.
