The use of an acid-resistant-resin microporous separator having a total porosity no less than 55% but less than 75% and the use of a negative-plate electrode material containing a bisphenol condensate allows the provision of a lead-acid battery wherein the positive electrode material exhibits minimal sludge formation and excellent low-temperature high-rate discharge performance is achieved. |
