The present invention relates to a method for evacuation of a vehicle comprising the step of determining (S1 ) an emergency situation which calls for evacuation of the vehicle. The method comprises the step, when such an emergency situation is determined, of automatically adapting (S2) the vehicle for evacuation by ensuring activation of cabin interior lighting and activation of available escape routes.
