Provided are a method and device for initiating a network conference. The method comprises: acquiring mail information related to the network conference; identifying addresser address information, addressee address information and mail title information in the mail information; determining the addresser address represented by the addresser address information as a first participant address of the network conference; determining the addressee address represented by the addressee address information as a second participant address of the network conference; determining the mail title represented by the mail title information as a conference subject of the network conference; and sending a conference appointment request including the conference subject, the first participant address and the second participant address to a conference appointment server. By means of the method and device in the present application, information related to a network conference can be generated automatically so that there is no need for an originator of the network conference to manually input address information about network participants and title information, thus improving the efficiency of initiating a network conference. |
