PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a steering apparatus of a motor vehicle comprising an electromechanical steering-assistance device.SOLUTION: Interference-induced vibrations which act on a torsion bar 3 of a steering apparatus 1 are detected and a frequency and amplitude of the interference-induced vibrations are analyzed. A steering-stabilization function of a steering-assistance device 2 is activated when a limit value for the amplitude of the interference-induced vibrations is exceeded. The steering-stabilization function provides a drive signal AS for an electric motor 20 of the steering-assistance device 2. The electric motor generates a compensation torque Mwhich acts on the torsion bar and at least partially counteracts the interference-induced vibrations. An indicator I is formed from the frequency and the amplitude of the interference-induced vibrations and the carriageway-induced vibrations are distinguished from vibrations caused by instabilities in the steering apparatus 1. The drive signal As is generated for the electric motor 20 in a vibration-dependent manner by combining, particularly multiplying the indicator I by the steering-stabilization function. |
