A process for producing a masterbatch is provided in which a polyester resin is inhibited from decreasing in viscosity and thereby a metal salt compound can be incorporated thereinto in a large amount. This process is a process for producing a masterbatch which comprises 100 parts by mass of a polyester resin and, incorporated thereinto, 0.4-10 parts by mass of one or more metal salt compounds selected from the group consisting of benzoic acid metal salts, aliphatic carboxylic acid metal salts, aromatic phosphoric ester metal salts, sulfonamide compound metal salts, and sulfonimide compound metal salts, and is characterized in that when the polyester resin and the metal salt compound(s) are introduced into an extruder and kneaded, the cylinder temperature of the extruder is regulated so as to be in the range of [(melting point of the polyester resin)-60°C] to [(melting point of the polyester resin)-10°C]. |
